Lift opened Alarm Will Sound’s 25th-anniversary season: an eight-track portrait of a group whose own members have always been its composers, arrangers, and players. The ensemble self-released the album on March 20, 2026 — its first release since winning the Grammy Award for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance in February 2026.

The program comprises eight pieces: John Orfe’s Dowland Remix, Caleb Burhans’s Escape Wisconsin (Alarm Remix), Stefan Freund and Matt Marks’s kinda asleep, Daniel Neumann’s Immaterial Consequences at the Missouri Theatre, The Shaggs’ Philosophy of the World arranged by Gavin Chuck, Matt Marks’s A Song for Wade (This is Not That Song), Boards of Canada’s Roygbiv arranged by Jason Price, and Stefan Freund’s Unremixed.
